The holiday season is meant to be and should be enjoyed.  It’s a time to give thanks and to celebrate with friends and family members.  Unfortunately, for many, the holidays can also be the most stressed, lonely and unhealthy time of the year.

Busy schedules, holiday parties and outrageous expectations lead to increased stress and a dramatic weight gain.  More importantly, this ongoing lifestyle is very unhealthy and prevents us from our ultimate goal; being healthy and fit.

This manual is not just another “workout” plan.  It's not that simple a problem to solve. Our goal is that you will not only “survive” but will thrive and start the New Year feeling better than before the holidays began!

 

Self Confidence after 50 seems to diminish fast with all the body changes

It seems like no matter what you do, you just can't shift that "new-found" weight or get the energy back that you once had.

We hear people say all the time, "It sucks to get old!".  We are here to tell you, it doesn't have to be that way!  You don't get aches and pains because you are getting older, you get aches and pains because you've stopped moving your body - the truth is if you don't move it, you will lose it!  And yes, we know we aren't telling you something you don't already know.

We are here to tell you that aging is not for sissies!

The latest report from the CDC's National Center for Health Statistics found that only 23 percent of Americans are meeting the federal standards set in 2008 for time spent exercising.

As we age, we change neurologically and physiologically. Although we can’t avoid these age-related changes altogether, we can definitely do things that slow down the process and prevent the associated and unnecessary risks.  Working with an experienced and seasoned trainer can make all the difference in the world.

Of course you do! We all do!  And we also know that choosing the right trainer or gym can be downright scary.  And doing your own research is overwhelming! Especially with workouts that are named "WOD", "Bikini Body", "30 Day Shred", or our personal favorite "Insanity"?  [REALLY!?] If we didn't know better, we'd be more than a little scared too.  It almost seems easier to do nothing and play it safe.

We get it, or as many say "we feel ya!" We are in our 50's and we know just what this means. We just recently went through a big relocation and we weren't as active as we are accustomed to. In just a few weeks we both started to feel the aches and muscle restrictions!

Our bodies are meant to MOVE and we want to help you do it safely, while getting results and without causing any serious injury in the process.  In fact, years ago people started coming to us because they knew they could trust us. We grew our in-person business as injury recovery and prevention coaches. Our reputation is solid.

Maybe in the past you tried working with a trainer who was young and inexperienced?

Someone who didn’t understand the limitations of your body and pushed you further than you should have gone?

In the process of getting in better shape one of the biggest advantages of working with an older and more experienced personal trainer is that we understand the effects of aging better, especially if you have medical conditions or injuries like arthritis, an old nagging sports injury, or a rotator cuff tear.

And we also know (it drives us crazy in fact) that you don't have to "kill yourself" at the gym, workout 7 days a week, or eat only chicken and broccoli in order to be healthy!

A good training program, and "working out", should make you feel better, not kick you to the point of lying on the floor unable to move your body.
